Notion – Ways it helps us Create YouTube Videos?

According to Notion website,

” Notion is a single space where you can think, write, and plan. Capture thoughts, manage projects, or even run an entire company — and do it exactly the way you want. “

And to be fair, we agree with this. Notion allows us to maintain our schedule, manage our channels and people too. Here are ways Notion helps us create YouTube videos.

Planning

It allows us to plan effectively. We have created different tabs for different channels. We run six channels, each channel having a different schedule. Notion enables us to have all our plans in a single place, which reduces confusion for everyone working as jumping between projects becomes more effortless.

The Notion also helps us stick to our required timelines every week.

Collaboration

Our YouTube video creation starts from ideation, then it moves to scriptwriting, recording and so forth. Notion gives us the tools to collaborate to make the end product better effectively. The team can provide each other constructive feedback in many ways. For example, in an article, one can comment on a specific place that requires changes. This doesn’t have the biggest impact, but anything that lowers the barrier to doing actual work is great.

In addition to that, one can specifically tag a person on the team who should look at the file/ project.

Content Calendar

Notion allows its users to create databases. These databases are effective for us when it comes to creating social media content calendars. We have started working with a weekly social media calendar since expanding our social media efforts to Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and Linkedin. When the content is created, it can be uploaded to specific databases, which other users can then view for the check.

So far, it’s helping us massively by saving everyone a lot of time. Everyone can know what is going on, which also helps everybody stay in the loop.

Documentation

We have a lot of documentation that needs to be stored. We have a guide for editors, narrators, scriptwriters and fact-checkers. We also update documents about our company’s philosophy, goals, etc. which helps everyone stay updated.

This could be achieved by using other software/ apps, but Notion has provided us with a one-stop place where everyone can find whatever they need.

Archive

We create a lot of content in addition to YouTube videos. We make Instagram posts, short videos for Reels and TikTok, Linkedin Posts, Articles, and more. An archive lets us go back and refer to our past projects and review them. When starting, you might not see the need, but as you keep creating, having a look at your past projects are more than helpful. Also, it helps us remember what we have already done.
